Burj Khalifa

Burj Khalifa Dubai

The stunning centerpiece of Downtown Burj Dubai is the Burj Khalifa skyscraper (Burj meaning tower) formally known as the Burj Dubai. The tower is 828 meters tall comprised of 162 floors which was completed in December 2009 and was officially inaugurated on January 4th 2010.

Burj Khalifa is located on the first Interchange along the Sheikh Zayed Road near Dubai’s main business district Deira.

The primary builders involved are Samsung Engineering & Construction and Besix along with Arabtec. Turner Construction Company was chosen as the construction manager. The total budget for the project was a massive $4.1 billion US dollars and for the whole entire “Downtown Dubai” was $20 billion US dollars.

The Armani Hotel - Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa also includes the Armani Hotel Dubai hosting 160 guest rooms and suites. Guest rooms are located on levels five through to eight with suites on floors 38 and 39.

The Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences. In addition to culinary excellence, the Armani Hotel Dubai will include Armani/Privé a hip and upscale lounge and the world’s first in-hotel Armani/Spa. The hotel will also be home to the Armani/Dolci, chocolates and sweets store, an Armani/Fiori, a floral shop, and an Armani/Galleria.

 

The Aramani Residences

Within the Burj Khalifa are the exclusive private residential apartments that were reported to be sold out in just 8 hours of release, these are the Armani Residences.

The Armani Residences were personally designed by Giorgio Armani himself using design furnishings from the Aramani / Casa collection. The Armani Residences include studio's one, two, three and four bedroom luxurious suites located on levels 19 to 108.

 

Services & Amenities in the Burj Khalifa

The Sky Lounge

Burj Khalifa includes a huge variety of amenities and services that provide residents and their guests an unimaginable lifestyle experience. Exclusive Sky Lobbies on Levels 43, 76 and 123 include state-of-the-art fitness facilities, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi and a recreation room for gatherings and events.

Other facilities include a resident's library, a cigar club, and Burj Khalifa Gourmet Market, a gourmet convenience store and meeting place for the residents. Valet parking will be provided for guests and visitors.

 

The Park

The park is an area that covers 11 hectares of landscaped greenery and stunning water features which are displayed upon entry into Burj Khalifa as well as the outdoor living areas.

These landscaped gardens include six water features designed by WET, the designers of The Dubai Fountain. The park area also includes two tennis courts, a children's playground and wading pool.

 

The Club

The Club is a four-storey health and recreation annex to Burj Khalifa. Although priority is given to Burj Khalifa residents, it is also open to the public. The extensive facilities include two luxurious indoor and outdoor pools, two gymnasiums with a dedicated ladies-only gym and a contemporary spa facility.

 

At the Top

At the top is Burj Khalifa's observation deck located on floor 124 giving you the ultimate view of Dubai and all it's glory.

The tour begins on the lower floor of Dubai Mall where one can take part in the magical journey and gain full understanding through a multi-media presentation of the history and creation of Dubai.

Palm Jumeirah

PALM JUMEIRAH

One of the most ambitious projects to be taken on in Dubai was Palm Jumeirah. This was a vision to expand on Dubai’s shoreline and to make the impossible, possible – creating land out of water. The Palms have become an icon for Dubai where luxury hotels, theme parks and villas are located.

The Palm is an extension to the shore line of Dubai creating a further 78 kilometers! Around 4000 residences and 32 luxury hotels besides a host of apartments and malls and shopping areas have been so far constructed here. The designing is such that it will resemble a Palm tree with a trunk, 17 fronds and also a crescent to work as a water breaker.

A day on the Palm is well worth a visit. Whatever you wish to do, there is something for all to enjoy!

Dubai Mosque

DUBAI MOSQUE

The Grand Mosque is one of Dubai’s best known landmarks. It is the largest mosque in Dubai standing at 231ft (70 meters) it holds a capacity of 1200 worshippers. The best time to view is at night when the mosque is lit up displaying its true beauty.

It originally opened in 1900 A.D as a Kuttab (Quranic School) where children learnt to recite the Quran from memory.

The Grand Mosque Dubai is situated on the Bur Dubai side of the creek near the ruler’s court and is of sand colour blending in with the natural traditional theme of the area. It was made up in Persian style implementing blue mosaics and wooden shutters with stained glass panels.

Non- Muslims cannot enter the Grand Mosque, but they can visit the minaret and take pictures of the mosque from outside.

Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab - A sail shaped silhouette rising form the waters of the Arabian Gulf dominating the coastline of Dubai soars to a height of 321 meters. It truly is a symbol of the 21^st century and is arguably one of the most luxurious hotels in the world.
